Estonian Baseball and Softball Federation has a new board

In the Estonian Baseball and Softball Federation meeting today Tauno Koppel, Erik Sandla, Koit Laasik and Riho Peterson were elected as members of board.

4 teams announced their participation in the 2012 Estonian Championships and there will be a total of 3 baseball fields in Estonia next year (in Keila, Kostivere and Tallinn).

The rules were also under discussion and it was a general consesus that the rules should be less strict to encourage new teams to participate.

Youth developement will get more attention from now on, with Tallinn Baseball Club also starting to train players in the age of 5 to 10 (Kiili Panthers have been doing that since 2010).

Holding a school tournament was also suggested.

In the spring of 2012 the Federation will hold a training for umpires and scorekeepers. Every team participating in the championships has to have at least one umpire
